Terry, thanks once again for your enthusiasm to get Claire involved
in the adaptive program.
It turned our time at Bretton Woods into
an unforgettable vacation, especially for Claire. She has now found new
enthusiasm for everything.
Bretton Woods has figured in all our reminiscing, such was the great
time we had. This was as a direct result of the help provided by you guys.
We really hope your program goes from strength to strength, as it deserves
and, we hope to see you all again in the not too distant future.
We hope you all had an enjoyable New Year and send our best wishes for
2007.
Keith & Kath, Warrington UK
Greetings Kathy, Carroll, Cheryl and Bob, Mary, Susan, Mike,
Jim and all you Adaptive folk who do such nice work!
Your
guidance and companionship with Inge (and me too, of course) was
just perfect for her; she was, and
still is, on Cloud Nine! It is clear that you have restored her confidence
in her ability to engage in her favorite sport, despite having to
adapt to those weird shorty shaped-boards. I am so grateful to you
all for making my "Christmas present" to her such a success!
We'll be back later in the season to enjoy your company, and the
slopes, again; and, of course, you have our fervent (if meagre) support
for the program….With
warmest regards to you all personally and admiration for what you
do.

I want to thank everyone who had a part in teaching my son Jared how
to ski this past weekend.
I never thought I would see the day that
Jared would be able to participate in a sport like skiing. So often Jared has
to sit on the sidelines and watch others participate in sporting activities.
But not this past weekend!
The patience and encouragement each staff member showed Jared was incredible!
On Saturday morning Luci and Dave where great! I cannot remember the names
of those who helped Luci out in the afternoon but I truly appreciate them
also.
Jared had such a great time on Saturday, he had to come back for
more on Sunday afternoon. I want to thank Mike and Colleen for
their efforts on Sunday afternoon. Thanks for a great weekend!

I am one of the blind x-c skiers who was a part of the New England Regional
Ski for Light weekend at Bretton Woods this past weekend.
I can't thank you guys enough! I've been participating with NERSFL
for many years, including being on the Board of Directors for the past
8. I feel like we've 'struck gold' with the relationship we've developed
with the adaptive program!
While I briefly met most of the volunteers, I had the opportunity to
ski with Emily and Sharon. They were both fantastic! Great people! Competent
and enthusiastic guides!
I so look forward to summer hiking and kayaking as well as to more
x-c skiing next winter.
It's amazing for me to know that I probably could work out the logistics
to get up to the north country on my own via public transportation and
manage to hook up with these guys to enjoy the outdoors. This is a sense
of freedom beyond that which I have known and will continue to enjoy as
a participant in scheduled NERSFL activities.
Keep up the good work!

…did not want another day to go by without extending my sincere
gratitude for last week’s stay and ski for two boys who have Duchenne
muscular dystrophy. Nick (17) and Max (13) are severely handicapped
due to this progressing muscle wasting disorder and can no longer participate
in anything that requires even the slightest muscle tone. You see,
they have lost it all in only about 4 years...they once were able to do
everything we could, and now they are completely dependent on others and
their life expectancy is less than 24 months....
As you can see, being able to participate in the activities here
at the Resort is an incredible opportunity. Furthermore, having Sandy here, who
is so very knowledgeable and compassionate with this population of boys
is an incredible asset. Without an individual possessing such ingenuity
and having the flexibility to create adaptive equipment, many times on
the spot, you would have just a "program" and your guests would
be missing out on an incredible "experience". As we all know,
it is the experiences that change lives forever...I am so happy that you
were able to be part of it.
The boys had such a great time that they really want to come back in
the summer to utilize the summer adaptive program.
Again, thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!! Today counts!

WOW, what a day for Clark. Thanks so much for all
you all did for Clark (and Us) on Friday. He had a great time. No he
had a fabulous, wonderful, unbelievable day. So did all of us with him.
We all cried and cheered him on throughout his lesson. Thanks for allowing
that wonderful moment for each of us but mainly for Clark. See you
again.

…Where do I begin. We drove back to Memphis on Saturday morning
and arrived in about 24 hours, with four drivers it made it easy.
Since
Saturday I have told everybody including my staff at work of our experience
at Breton Woods, the Adaptive Ski program and most of all the unique
individuals who work with clients who come to the Adaptive Ski Program. Most of all
we had the honor and privilege of meeting you, Jerry. What you, Henry
and Judy did with Clark was truly amazing. You said it best, skiing as
a family is truly what it is all about and you and your team provided
that avenue for Clark, sisters, Abby and Lindsey, my sister Ralph and
myself. My goal on this trip was to get Clark to Breton Woods and skiing
but you accomplished more than I ever expected.
I am sure many have
told you, you Jerry, are a very special person. I have had the honor of meeting
many people through Clark, that either provide services or open their
hearts to Special needs, however none measure up to you.
Thank you
for this outstanding experience. The only thing that could surpass this would
be getting my wife on skies, maybe next year……..
